Michael Jay Gunn began his career in Residential Home Finance in June of 1999. Since then he has helped hundreds of families become Home Owners, specifically serving the Bay Area & Central Valley Markets. His obsession with numbers came early on in life. His Father was a Civil Engineer in upstate New York before joining the Navy, and so he worked long hours. During his off time, Michael’s father would spend his weekends tutoring Michael in his favorite subject, Mathematics.
Michael attended USC and graduated in 1980 with a Degree in Land Use Planning, so it was inevitable that he would find himself working in some aspect of Real Estate. In 1998, he combined what he learned as a Trojan with his passion for numbers and decided to obtain his Lenders License with the DOC. By 1999, he was already working at a small mortgage brokerage firm in Concord, CA.
In the span of his 17 year career, Michael has originated all types of mortgage loans from Conventional, FHA/VA/USDA, Jumbo, to even commercial lending. Today, his primary focus is to help guide First Time Buyers through the process of purchasing their very first home, and Current Home Owners lower their payment through a refinance.
By selecting Michael as your Mortgage Lender, you can be assured that you will receive his full attention, excellent communication & customer service throughout the transaction from beginning to end, and a stress free process. This all happens not by chance, but with solid experience in the field, a clear lending process, and being backed by a strong mortgage banking team.
On his off time, you can find Michael spending time with his Daughter along with close friends & family, golfing, enjoying a fine cigar, or cooking Italian dishes. He has been a resident of Antioch, CA since 1999.
