Tammy became a loan officer in 2003 after transitioning out of her position as and educator for hearing impaired students for the Los Angeles School District. She moved to Houston to be closer to her grandchildren. Her background in education, lends itself well to making sure clients are fully educated in the loan process.
She understands that buying a home can be stressful as it usually the largest investment a person makes in their life. Making sure her clients are comfortable and well informed is her priority.
Back in 2013 my life was upside down. I had nowhere to go in Houston and I did not have anyone to rely on but, thanks God, I still had a job which I loved so much. While watching me packing stuff for donation one friend asked “why don’t you buy a house?” I laughed. The idea was great but I did not have any savings. Yet he insisted that I should go to the bank and ask if I could somehow get a pre approval letter for a loan. The same friend said that “bad things do not happen to good people” and took me a while to understand that… Not so confident I took his advice. Went to the Bank and met Tammy Vandermeulen, who was the loan specialist at that time (the best loaner one can ever meet) and, before looking at my credit score, she witnessed a not pleasant situation in which someone really tried to put me down leaving my soul speechless (It is hard to shut up a soul of a dreamer, humanitarian and feminist who deeply believes in honesty and respect. Maybe even my soul was learning English… Well… That is another story… I guess…). Back to Tammy… She then asked about myself in a so kind manner that I couldn’t avoid feeling comfortable with her. I said, “I am okay.” She knew I wasn’t but said strongly, “Great you are taking control of your life! Let’s see what can be done here…” and started analyzing my finances after professionally asking someone else to leave the room. She not only helped me to get a loan to finance a house with very little down payment but also restored my confidence even offered some of her own furniture so I could restart a life on my own. We become friends since that day and enjoyed many adventures together. I am thankful for your friendship Tammy and wish you all the best! I miss our laughs watching our silly Netflix shows together!
I’d love to hear from you.
